NIT offers BE degree program in 5 different specializations. The minimum required eligibility for admission to BE course is 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics and any of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology with minimum 50% marks.
Admission to the UG program is given on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in MHT-CET conducted by DTE, Maharashtra. Candidates who possess valid JEE Main score are also eligible for admission. Applicants belonging to Maharashtra have to mandatorily appear for MHT-CET entrance exam.
For admission, all the candidates will have to participate in Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Other state candidates including J & K candidates, will be allotted seats on the basis of JEE Main scorecard only. Out of the total seats, 20% seats are filled through Institute/ Management Quota and 65% seats are filled through CAP.
MHT- CET is an offline exam and consists of two papers. Paper 1 is of Mathematics and Paper 2 is of Physics and Chemistry. A candidate must appear for both Papers I and Paper II. Duration of each paper is 90 minute.
- There is no age limit for appearing in MHT- CET.
- Candidates belonging to SC/ST category are given 5% relaxation in qualifying exam criteria.
- Candidates who have passed HSC and SSC exam in Maharashtra will only be considered for State-level seats.
Applications for admission to Nagpur Institute of Technology can be submitted online. Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech course must apply for MHT- CET through the official website. For filling the application form, MHT- CET candidates have to follow the below-mentioned steps:
- Visit the official DTE website at www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in.
- Upload the scanned copies of required documents.
- For application fee, candidate should make payment of INR 800 (INR 600 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) through the online system only.
- Take the Printout of form for the verification and FCs.
Documents required for filling of the application form are as follows:
- SSC (standard X) mark sheet.
- HSC/Diploma mark sheet.
- Qualifying Examination mark sheet.
- Mark sheet/Score Card of the entrance test.
- School Leaving Certificate.
- Certificate of the Indian Nationality of the candidate.
- Domicile/Birth/Leaving certificate (for candidates seeking Home state Quota).
- Caste certificate (if Applicable)
The online application will be accepted only after the applicant submits the hard copy of the form with relevant documents at the facilitation centers (FCs).
