MIT World Peace University is the top education institute in India which was established in 1983 under the MIT Group of Institutions. It is located in Kothrud, Pune. Currently, more than 50,000 students are pursuing various courses in different departments. MIT-WPU offers an array of courses at UG and PG levels under its different schools. It also offers a Ph.D. course in 2 streams which are Engineering and Pharmacy.
- Admission to UG courses is based on merit secured in the qualifying exam or an entrance exam conducted by the university known as MIT-WPU UGPET.
- The final selection in the BBA course is based on the performance in Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI).
- Securing admission in B.Tech depends upon the basis of MHT CET/ JEE Main/ BITSAT/ VITEEE/ MU OET/PERA CET exams
- For B.Des. and B.Pharm. courses, the university accepts UCEED and MHT CET/ NEET/PERACET scores respectively.
- For Law courses such as LLB, BBA LLB (Hons) and B.Com LLB (Hons), the university also considers scores of MHT CET/ CLAT/ LSAT exams.
- Admission to PG courses are based on the MIT-WPU PGPET exam.
- Selection to M.Tech. is based on the GATE score and work experience of the candidate.
- Candidates can get admission to an MBA based on CAT/ MAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAH-MBA-CET followed by GD and PI rounds.
- The selection in MCA (Computer Application) is done on the basis of the MAH-MCA-CET score.
- M.Pharm. admission is done on the basis of the GPAT exam.

MIT-WPU B.Tech. Eligibility
The minimum requirement for the B.Tech. course for Maharashtra State Candidates and for seats under All India Quota is mentioned below:
For Maharashtra State Candidates
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Technical Vocational subjects.
- Candidates of Maharashtra State Open Category Candidate must have secured 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks for Backward Class and PWD category of Maharashtra State only) in the above subjects taken together.
- Those who have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology with 50% marks (45% marks for Backward Class and PWD category of Maharashtra State only) are also eligible.
- Candidates who have been awarded IB Diploma or the IB Diploma Course (i.e. IB Certificate) as a qualification for entry to the professional course at the institute and is required to have passed the subjects of Physics and Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) with a minimum score of 24 credits can also apply.
Note(s):
- For admissions to Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering and Polymer Engineering students must have passed Chemistry also at Higher Level.
- Students awarded the IB Diploma should also have completed other mandatory requirements (like CAS, TOK and the EE) towards the award of IB Diploma.
- The university has identified new-age courses like Linux, Python, AI and ML, IoT, and Data Science for all BTech programs.
- Students of BTech, other than Computer Science Engineering (CE) can take a minor in Computer Engineering. To earn the minor, the student should acquire additional 20 credits defined for minor in CE.
- These credits are in addition to the mandatory 168 credits of the BTech Program in which the student is admitted.
All India Quota Seats The eligibility remains the same for All India Candidates as that of Maharashtra State Candidates. The only difference is candidates who have Diploma in Engineering and Technology are not eligible to apply. Eligibility for B.Tech. Lateral Entry Candidates must have passed Diploma in relevant discipline with at least 45% marks (40% marks for Backward Class and PWd category) to be eligible for admission into B.Tech Lateral Entry.
MIT-WPU B.Tech. Selection Criteria
- The university selects applicants based on the MHT-CET/ JEE Main/ PERA CET exam for B.Tech course.
- Under the All India Quota, the university may also consider BITSAT, VITEEE and MU OET exam score in case of any vacant seat.
- Candidates need to confirm their admission by paying INR 1,20,000/- via POS or Demand Draft in the name of "Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University" as Seat Acceptance fee.
- Candidates also need to submit the required documents in original.
Selection for B.Tech. Lateral Entry Admission to B.Tech. Lateral Entry is based on the merit in the qualifying examination.
Key Points:
- If the seat remains vacant due to non-allotment and non-reporting for admission then such seat will be considered for allotment in subsequent counselling round.
- For First Year of Engineering and Technology Admissions, the Diploma candidates shall be considered for allotment only in the last round of counselling.
- The seat will get rejected if the candidate fails to report in person for Seat Acceptance.
- Allotted Seat will be cancelled if, at any time, any of the documents or certificates is found to be invalid or fraudulent and/or the Candidate does not meet the eligibility

While the covid pandemic was a huge challenge facing the entire world, the MITWPU CIAP team took it as an opportunity to prove our dedication to the careers of our students.
So far, in excess of 850 students from engineering and over 750 management students have been placed, the pandemic notwithstanding! Among the companies that we have placed our students include the likes of IBM, HCL, Michelin India, Amdocs, Infosys, ONGC, Hitachi, Barclays, Axis Bank, Adani Wilmar, Thermax, ITC Ltd, TCS, Times Group and Larsen and Toubro to name a few. Rakuten, a Japanese company selected 2 of our students with CTC 37.26 L p.a, the highest CTC ever offered on campus so far. This is only possible due to the flexibility and willingness to adapt shown by CIAP and placements team. Not only that but there is an average increase of 20% in the salaries this year.
