the Constitution of India sponsored and established the Katihar Medical College in 1987. The college celebrated its Silver Jubilee in October 2012.

The basic objective of the establishment of Katihar Medical College by the Trust is to provide specialized medical facilities to the suffering humanity of this region through the hospital of the College.

Katihar Medical College MBBS Admission 2022

At undergraduate level, Katihar Medical College offers MBBS to eligible candidates. Admission in this course requires a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, English, Biology/ Biotechnology from any recognised Board. Selection of candidates is done purely on the basis of the merit of NEET UG 2020. Students have to register for Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) on official website of BCECE.

Key Points:

Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on or before December 31 of the academic year.
Aspirants applying under SC/ ST/ OBC categories are given a relaxation of 10% while physically handicapped applicants enjoy 5% of relaxation on the aggregate of qualifying examination as well as NEET UG percentile.
The intake in MBBS is 100 seats.

Katihar Medical College MD and MS Admission 2022

Katihar Medical College offers 5 PG Diploma courses, 6 MS courses and 12 courses in MD under different fields of specializations of Medical Sciences. Aspirants seeking admission in any of these PG courses must possess 50% aggregate marks in MBBS degree or any other equivalent qualifications along with a completion certificate of one-year compulsory internship.

Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC categories must have a minimum of 40% marks in MBBS degree. Selection of eligible candidates in any steam of MD, MS, and PG Diploma is based on the score in NEET PG followed by counselling by Bihar Counselling Board.

Key Points:

There is no age limit for admission in any of the PG courses.
Candidates must have 50 percentile in NEET PG to be eligible to apply for admission.
A completion certificate for one-year compulsory internship must be obtained as on or before March 31 of the academic year.
Registration as a Certified Medical Practitioner under Medical Council of India is necessary.
Applicants with PG degree in a specific subject are not allowed admission in the Diploma course of similar discipline.

Katihar Medical College Application Process 2022

Aspirants looking to apply for admission in Katihar Medical College first have to register online with Bihar Counselling Board and after that offline to the college. However, applicants have to register themselves with NEET UG/ NEET PG entrance examination on the respective official websites.

To apply for admission in any of the UG and PG courses in the college, the below mentioned procedure is to be followed step-by-step:

For Online:

Candidates with NEET Score Card can visit the State Govt. website Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) to apply for admission.
Click the UGMAC-2018 button to apply online.
Register with UGMAC to create a login ID and password with a valid email id and mobile number.
Sign with the newly create login id to pay the registration fee of INR 1200 (for General/ BC) and INR 600 (for SC/ ST/ PD) either online through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net-banking or offline through Banks with an added bank charges of INR 60.
Take print out of the paid online challan or the stamped receipt of offline challan.
Fill the online application form carefully with personal and academic information.
Submit the completely filled application form and download the same after submission.
Take the print of the application form in the format of Part A and Part B.

For Offline:

Aspirants can obtain the prospectus and application form from the admission office of the college.
Fill the application form correctly.
Affix the passport sized photograph on the designated places in the form.

Note: Candidates must carry the Original documents at the time of Counselling for verification purposes along with online submitted application form with paid receipt of challan. Counselling dates and venue will be notified by the Govt. of Bihar through BCECE, Patna on its official website.
