Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of the 23 IITs created to be Centres of Excellence for training, research and development in science, engineering and technology in India.
Established as College of Engineering in 1961, the Institute was later declared as an Institution of National Importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963” and was renamed as “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi”. It was then accorded the status of a Deemed University with powers to decide its own academic policy, to conduct its own examinations, and to award its own degrees.
Since its inception, over 48000 have graduated from IIT Delhi in various disciplines including Engineering, Physical Sciences, Management and Humanities & Social Sciences. Of these, nearly 5070 received Ph.D. degrees. The number of students who graduated with B.Tech. degree is over 15738. The rest obtained Master’s Degree in Engineering, Sciences and Business Administration. These alumni today work as scientists, technologists, business managers and entrepreneurs. There are several alumni who have moved away from their original disciplines and have taken to administrative services, active politics or are with NGOs. In doing so, they have contributed significantly to building of this nation, and to industrialization around the world.

IIT Delhi B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have a passed 10+2 examinations.
- Candidates must have PCM subjects in the 10+21 examination.
- A 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates
IIT Delhi B.Tech Selection Criteria
- JoSAA conducts counseling process of IIT Delhi B.Tech seats.
- Candidates need to appear in the JEE Advanced entrance exam.
- JoSAA after declaration of JEE exam result will declare the opening and closing rank of each specialization.
- As per the minimum rank cut-off, IIT Delhi confirms admission to the interested candidates.

IIT Delhi B.Tech: How to Apply?
- Candidates need to visit JEE Mains website
- Register for JEE entrance exam
- Fill up the form with the required details
- Upload document
- Confirm the application form and pay the application fee
- After Entrance, result declare, Confirm IIT Delhi as institute preference
- Candidates securing the required cut off rank can confirm admission to IIT Delhi
Documents Required at the time of JEE Registration:
- Copy of passport-sized photograph with date and signature
- Scanned copy of signature to upload
- Date of birth (as mentioned on class 10 certificate)
- Class 10 and class 12 mark sheet
- PWD, SC/ST or another reservation certificate, if applicable
Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi offers admission into M.Tech under 38 specializations for which admissions are on the basis of GATE entrance test which is followed by counselling.
IIT Delhi M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must have passed B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. (Engineering) /M.Sc./ M.C.A./MBBS/ M.Pharm./B.Pharm. with 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA.
- Candidates must have relevant specialization in the qualifying examination.

IIT Delhi M.Tech and Integrated M.Tech Selection Criteria:
- Admission will be granted on the basis of the candidate’s performance in GATE.
- IIT B.tech graduates with a minimum of 8.00 CGPA are exempted from the GATE exam score requirement.
- COAP will allocate seats for the M.Tech program of IIT Delhi.
- IIT Graduates will be selected as per Personal Interview performance.

- Register as a new user by filling out the required details.
- Log in with your credentials and fill out the application form accurately.

IIT Delhi inaugurated the first phase of its 2020-21 placement drive on December 1, 2020. Within the first day itself, over 300 jobs had been offered to the students and the maximum number of jobs were offered by top recruiters Microsoft, Intel, Goldman Sachs. Over half of its graduates have already been placed under different industries.

Over 300+ national and international recruiters planned on offering 500+ job profiles across multiple domains. The institute surpassed its own expectations as students bagged over 925 job offers in the first phase of placements. More than 200 firms have hired students for around 250 different job profiles, including pre-placement offers.
Most of the students had opted for jobs in their technical core. Around 90% of students have bagged offers in their core areas. Over 20 International selections have been made by countries and international offers have been received from several countries including Japan, the Middle East, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.
13 students had opted for deferred placements facility. Students opting for this option can avail the placement services once for up to 2 years.

The institute witnessed a huge surge in the Pre-Placement Offers. By November 2, 2020, over 135 PPOs had been received, bypassing last year’s total PPOs of 113. Currently, over 150 PPOs have been offered to the students.
