IIT Gandhinagar offers a B.Tech. degree in a total of 6 different departments. Admission to these programs is done through the JEE Advanced examination which is conducted in the month of May every year. JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) controls the entire admission procedure. A total of 7 rounds of admissions and counselling take place each year.

IIT Gandhinagar B.Tech. Eligibility
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as main subjects.
- Candidates must also have a valid JEE Advanced score to apply for B.Tech.
IIT Gandhinagar B.Tech. Selection Criteria
- For admission to B.Tech., candidates need to appear in JEE Advanced exam.
- The qualified candidates have to register for JoSAA Counselling which will take place in 6 rounds.
- During this counselling, applicants have to fill their choices and lock them.
- In each counselling round seats will be allocated to students who meet the cutoffs as released by IIT Gandhinagar.
- Applicants who will meet the cutoffs will be selected for admission to B.Tech course.

How to Apply?
- Firstly, candidates need to register for JEE Advanced exam for B.Tech. course
- Enter the personal, academic details and upload Scanned Images of Candidate’s Photograph and Signature.
- Pay the application fee through Debit card/Credit card/Net banking/UPI/PAYTM by following the online instructions.
- Upon successful payment, print the Confirmation Page and keep it for future reference.
- After the JEE Advanced Result is out, candidates need to register for JoSAA.
- Fill the preferred choices and lock them.
- JoSAA consists of 6 rounds and each round seat will be allocated to eligible students.
- Those who are satisfied with allotted need to download Allotment Letter and pay the seat acceptance fees.
- Candidates can also choose Float or Slide options if they are not satisfied with the allotment:

IIT Gandhinagar offers admission in M.Tech & PGDIIT programs based on the written test and interview round. Candidates are shortlisted for the written and interview based on their academic record and GATE score. The final selection is done on the basis of all the above factors including academic record, GATE score, written test score and performance in interview.
IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Eligibility Criteria
- Pass in B.E. /B.Tech./M.Sc. degree or equivalent to that with a minimum of 55% marks (50% marks for SC /ST).
- Candidates should have a valid GATE score.
- For aspirants, applying for a part-time M.Tech or for the PGDIIT program are not required to have a GATE score.
- Candidates who have done their B.Tech from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above is not required to have a GATE score.
IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech Selection Criteria
The M.Tech selection criteria at IIT Gandhinagar include GATE exam score, Written Test, and Interview.
- Candidates are first required to appear for the GATE exam and score a good percentile in it.
- After the candidates have successfully cleared the GATE exam, the candidates are further shortlisted for the written examination by the institute based on their GATE exam score.
- Once the written exam is done, the candidates are further called for the interview round.
- A final merit list is then prepared based on GATE exam score, written test marks, and performance in the interview round.

Early Admit M.Tech. Program
IIT GN offers an Early Admit M.Tech program. This program is available for B.Tech students of selected colleges, fulfilling the below-mentioned eligibility criteria.
- B.Tech. students from NITs and other select colleges (who will graduate in 2021 or have graduated in 2020) and are among the top five rank holders in the department at the end of their pre-final year and final year.
- B.Tech. students from IITs (who will graduate in 2021 or have graduated in 2020) with a CPI/CGPA of not less than 6.0 at the end of their third year and fourth year respectively.
The selection of such candidates is based on past academic performance, written tests and/or personal interviews.
How to Apply?

- Now click on the application link of desired course and fill out the application form with all the required details.
- After filling, pay an application fee of INR 200/- (INR 100/- for SC/ST/PWD category)
- Submit the application form.
- Upon successful submission, an application number and link to download the application will be sent to the student.

IIT Gandhinagar (IITGN) is located in Palej in 400 acres of land. It provides residential campus for B.Tech and M.Sc. programmes. It has three hostel wings, out of which two are for boys and one for girls. The girls’ hostels and one wing of the boys’ hostels are located inside the present campus while the other wing is right across the street from the campus.
